Pierre's show this week dedicated to Chris Knox
As regular listeners well know, I am a big fan of Kiwi Rock. That is, music from New Zealand. Chris Knox strides across the scene like a colossus: with his bands Toy Love, Enemy, Tall Dwarfs and lots of great solo releases, as well as being instrumental in the creation of the country's scene as a founder of Flying Nun Records. Practically every week The Pierre Camembert Show features Chris Knox music in some form or another.
On June 11th Chris suffered a stroke. He is still in hospital in Auckland recovering. He is mostly paralyzed but is slowly regaining faculties. His friends and family have started a blog to keep his fans worldwide updated, at http://chrisknox.blogtown.co.nz/. A recent entry described with joy how Chris was able to write his name. And glares with contempt when played The Beatles "Norwegian Wood", haha.
Google Chris Knox. Watch his video for the wonderful "Not Given Lightly".
Hopefully very soon Chris will be back to making his wonderful music!
All the best for a full and speedy recovery, Chris!
