god damned good morning
so who reads this anyway?
quite a few folks click on this. much love, definitely some seconds of your ol' biography you aint never gonna git back,...
hello to you.
how was your mornin? do you have grits about six days a week for breakfast/brunch like myself? maybe ya should. cinnamon, rosemary, ginger, , ,)
anyway i wanna mention some amazing music lately that's been shakin tuscon.
first off, "run on sunshine," the vibe is still with me these days: perhaps, unsettlingly beautiful. you will never be the same and you will not regret seeing this act for sure although you've got to let yourself become vulnerable. a mostly a Capella experience accompanied by some bells, a broken tambourine, an old ass toy piano, and a delightfully abused banjo. be prepared to be under-prepared when you become inspired by this happening unwinding yarns of stories and feelings. that's all i can really say.
thumbs up from william here.
+ the same evening there were some other sweet acts including the likes of every member of the pasties doing their own thing with the band switching instruments and calling themselves a different act each time. to be honest perhaps joe and kendyl would grow on me but they felt pretty normal and i was filled with higher expectations before the show. *however i am very aware that some of my favorite music i don't really like upon the first sounding.
but angelo spencer was definitely something to feel funk about. strange melodic percussion, the french language, and uninhibited energy. definitely check this dude out, i hope to see him again...
also a very nicely mannered mediocre band from Nashville, called Tristan (let's just call them cutecore), opened the art show at solar culture the other night which was quite inspiring. they have so much space, hangin' up stuff salon style in their big space and they don't deny submissions so there's bound to be stuff to inspire you. i really dug some intricate pen work in there and some scarily realistic masks.
finally i will say that the Free radio chukshon benefit was super sweet. although i wish to manifest a bigger Chukshon presence at the next benefit the scene was rather positive. Dancy bands (la cerca, bradford trojan, and the runaway five), nice art, and sweet people. glad it was at an adorable gallery right off fourth that a lot of folx don't know about yet. Candelabra is just down from Che's toward the high school and is adorable. ask the owner about her art car history...
anyways, bought to throw down this week;s show.
